Here’s an email that came in recently:
“The number one challenge I’m facing right now is that I don’t make enough money to do what I need to do. $1,020 a month doesn’t go very far. I work part time, and have been applying for full time work since 2011 to no avail. I don’t really want to work for somebody else but right now my choices are slim.”
We receive messages like this every single week, from talented, passionate, creative women all over the world.
While I’m not able to provide free email coaching to all the ladies in our tribe, what I can do is share some ideas that may help you move forward if you’re in a similar situation.
1. Change your language from limitation to affirmation.
Stop saying negative phrases like: “My choices are slim” and start replacing them with positive ones like: “I choose to do whatever I want.”
This is a much more empowering statement that affirms who you really are – a creative woman with choices in all areas of her life.
2. Recognize your power.
Alice Walker said, “‘The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any.”
Remember, just the fact that you want something MORE for yourself is an indication that you have been given a vision for your life that is bigger than you.
And when you have been given a big vision for your life, you have also been given the ability to make it a reality.
This means you already have the power to change your life. You just have to decide that you will do so.
3. Brainstorm solutions and take action.
If you want to move from where you are now to where you really want to be, you need to ask yourself the following questions:
Am I truly ready to transform this area of my life?
What strategies can I try that I haven’t tried before in this area of my life?
What risks am I willing to take to change this area of my life?
Who can I ask for help or support in this area of my life?
Whenever you feel pain in a particular area of your life, it’s usually because something needs to change.
And YOU have to be the one to change it.
Because if you wait for something (or someone) outside of you to change, you could be waiting YEARS before anything shifts.
If you don’t do something to change your circumstances, a year from now, you could still be in the exact same place you are today – just a little more discouraged than you were before.
But when you can change your language, you reframe your circumstances and see from a new point of view.
When you can recognize your power, you gain confidence in yourself and hope for the future.
And when you can brainstorm solutions and take action, your life will transform faster than you ever thought possible.
I believe in you.
I believe in your goals.
And I’m here to help you as much as I can.
