Join the 31 Days to Reset Your Life Challenge: December 2011 Edition

This is the announcement post for the December 2011 edition of the 31 Days to Reset Your Life Challenge. Learn more and sign up for the program here.

Note: Please read everything on this page if you want to join us for December. If you already completed last month’s challenge, no need to do this one(unless you want to repeat it) as the exercises are identical month by month.

For December 2011, I am putting out the invitation here on the blog for those who want to benefit from my virtual life coaching program, 31 Days to Reset Your Life. Each day of the program requires you to complete an exercise that will help you get back on track in ways that will allow you to become a better, happier, healthier and more successful person in the future.

You’ll get exercises to help you:

  • Get out of an unsatisfying rut
  • Rediscover who you truly are
  • Develop a personal mission statement
  • Create a map for your ideal life
  • Envision and pursue your passion and purpose
  • Get clear about your goals for the future
  • Eliminate behaviors that are holding you back from being happy
  • Experiment with new strategies for living a healthy life
  • Build new relationships
  • Cultivate the entrepreneurial spirit within
  • …and much more!

Who is this challenge for?

Anyone who wants to manifest a change in their life, design a more fulfilling existence, make room for new possibilities or simply gain more clarity about their path to happiness and success. This challenge will especially be of benefit to you if you’ve felt stuck or in a rut during the last year.

How to sign up:

Each participant who signs up for 31 Days to Reset Your Life will commit to doing each of the daily exercises.

Step 1:

You will need to SIGN UP HERE so you can be notified of each of the daily assignments. This is the MOST IMPORTANT STEP, otherwise you will NOT receive any of my challenge blog posts in your inbox. Once you enter and confirm your email address, you will automatically receive a daily email. The emails will be sent to you every day for 31 days, starting immediately, so if you want to start on December 1 exactly, wait until then to sign up! Each email will contain an exercise or assignment designed to provoke reflection and planning. Each email will also contain a link back to my blog where you can comment and connect with other 31 Day Reset participants. This way, you get a daily reminder to complete the exercise and share your learnings with the group!

Step 2:

One of the best things about participating in a challenge is the accountability and support, so in addition to signing up, please add your name, blog link, and Twitter handle (if you have one) in the comments below so that we can keep tabs on your progress throughout the month. As soon as you sign up, you will receive your first assignment and you can get started on right away, whenever you choose to begin!

How to participate:

As you complete each of the daily exercise, blog about the results (if some of the exercises don’t really apply to you, no worries). Note: If you decide to blog along, tag your posts with the tag “31dayreset” to make them easier to share with us.

If you don’t want to write about the challenge on your blog, you can still participate in a few other ways:

  • Follow along with the daily exercises and let us know how you apply them in the comments of each of the posts here on Happy Black Woman
  • Comment on the blog posts written by the other challenge participants – be sure to leave your own insights, suggestions and tips on the topics covered and share with us what you’re learning
  • Post your updates and learnings on Twitter using the hashtag #31dayreset (and follow me @happyblackwoman)
  • Join the Happy Black Woman Facebook community where you can post your insights and comment within the Facebook platform

P.S. Don’t forget to SIGN UP HERE so you can be notified of each of the daily assignments. Again, this is the most important step, otherwise you will NOT receive any of my challenge blog posts in your inbox and you will have to manage this process on your own.

P.P.S. Don’t forget to come over and join The Happy Black Woman Facebook Community if you haven’t already so you can get even more encouragement throughout the month! If you’re on Twitter, follow me @happyblackwoman to get updates there, too.

  3. I just signed up for the 31 days to reset and im so excited about this and getting back to me but in a postive light and on a good note i have been down for so long and letting it get the best of me and i think with the new year around the corner this is perfect wish me luck!

  4. Okay, so I must admit I’ve been playing catch up with the exercises. However, for me the most important aspect of this is that I hold myself accountable to share. So, here are the past four days!

    Day 1
Mantra: I am increasingly magnetic to money, prosperity & abundance of love in all relationships and business ventures.

Song: Kiss of life by Sade

Notebook: Naughty/Nice Journal. My mom gave it to me as a birthday gift…timely as she gave it to me 12/3 and my birthday was 9/1. I love journals and I am excited about having this as a keepsake from this transforming “life reset.”

    Day 2 – Life Assessment
Lifestyle: Like – that there is not a lot of idle time. Dislike – Habits I had to curb. Spontaneous time that I don’t have much of.

Work: Like – New experiences. Dislike – Working for someone versus being an entrepreneur full time.

Education: Like – Well-rounded. Dislike – Preparing for tests (PANCE and GRE)

Finances: Like – I’ve taken my power back in how I give my money away. Dislike – Student loan amount.

Health: Like – Very cognizant of what I need to do to maintain optimal health and wellness with many techniques. Dislike – Having to show up to get the results.

Family: Like – That my siblings & I are able to talk to one another with less arguments. Dislike – The stories I made up about an aunt and cousin.

Relationships: Like – Haven’t had a bad/dramatic ending with any relationships. Dislike – Being anxious about not knowing what the future holds for platonic and intimate relationships.

    Day 3 – Love Letter
    Dear Future Me,
Congratulations on all the progress you’ve made so far! You now have even more to be grateful for in each area of your life, including the following:
Lifestyle: You love that you stayed strong, had control & did not succumb to the wants. You love that you used your time effectively to get the most out of your daily experiences.
Work: You love that you have not looked at your current earnings and let it put you in a negative mindset. You love that you are willing to do work with other organizations for money that humbles you yet, allows you to build a foundation for a new home in 2013.
Education: You love that you didn’t let yourself down and stuck in with the PA program and supplemented with the Fashion merchandising and design minor, regardless of what others thought! You love that you will not give up on passing the PANCE and becoming a board-certified PA in NYC in 3/12. You love that you are willing to ask for assistance from others.
Finances: You love that you have a plan on paying off your student loans. You love that you do not over-react to financial situations and conversations.
Health: You love that you have taken a stand to have your body operate in/at and optimal state by – practicing yoga, meditation and using techniques from Landmark Education. You love that you show up and have seen amazing results.
Family: You love that you recognize the need and importance of restoring the integrity in your relationships with family members.
Relationships: You love that you have not given up on communicating with your friends. You love that you do not put pressure on relationships with men. You love that you are willing to let the Universe direct you to energy and that you trust your intuition. You love that you are able to be fully self-expressed in all relationships.
Your life is so much better now and its because of your hard work. Keep it up!!!

    Day 4 – Reset 10
Faith, love, service, education, integrity, self-expression, travel, equal rights and access to opportunities for all forms of life, community (family, friends & peers), and a positive legacy.

After the 15 minutes I had so many to choose from. It was difficult to narrow it down to 10. However, I am satisfied with those I have chosen and will probably use them to expand on the others.

  5. 31 Day Reset Day 5:
    Reset 10

    Love: 8
    Financial Security: 2
    Career: 7
    Healthy Living: 3
    Physical Change: 2
    Friendships: 8
    Family: 10
    Religion: 6
    Civic Involvement: 5
    Advancement: 6

As I did my life assessment, the value identification, and this exercise, I have come to the realization that I have a lot of work to do, especially in the area of my finances. I have begun and I am up for the challenge!

  6. My mantra: “Action is the antidote to despair”

My theme Song: “Keep Trying” by Groove Theory. It’s a lovely song with a great, positive message.

I ran out to CVS to grab a notebook for this reset and found a small, sturdy, ringed binder that says “Think Big: Anything is Possible”. It is perfect for this purpose. :-)

  7. Just starting out and I’m excited ti make some real progress. My twitter is @tiffjrobinson and I’m looking forward to connecting with you all throughout this process. Good luck ladies.

  8. Like others I have started this but never finished! This time I’m looking forward to actually finishing! We can do this ladies!

  9. Like others, I’ve also let “life” get in the way of doing the 31 days to reset your life challenge so many other times this year. . . Two days ago, I decided to put this in the forefront. . .

    Day 1 Challenge:
My Personal Mantra: “There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. . .” (an excerpt from Marianne Williamson Returning to Love)

My Theme Song: “A Beautiful Day” by India.Arie The first verse always reminds me to slow down and savor each day. . . “Life is a journey, not a destination. There are no mistakes, just chances we’ve taken. Lay down your regrets, ’cause all we have is now. . .”

My reset notebook: I’m ole school. I use the spiral notebook because this is a class for my self and my spirit.

Follow me on twitter at @rozzyology and check out my blog. . . I will post some of the daily challenges on my blog. . . :-D

  10. I originally signed up for the challenge earlier in the year but I let ‘life’ get in the way. So I have decided to redo this so that I can gain the clarity and focus needed to head into the new year. I have chosen to use a journal that I already have, it is silver with turquoise flowers.

Personal mantra: “You have within you the strength, the patience and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world” ~ Harriet Tubman

Theme Song: “Pieces of Me” by Ledisi
The lyrics that resonate with me are:
“People just don’t know what I’m about, they haven’t seen what’s there behind my smile. There’s so much more of me I’m showin now (These are the pieces of me” AND “Now I’m gonna mistakes from time to time but in the end, believe I’m gon fly”

My twitter name is @speedyva I’m looking forward to interacting with you all

  11. I selected a large notebook from Barnes and Noble that has dogwood blossoms on it. I need alot of space to write. My mantra is from the song “Fly” by Nicki Minaj: “I came to win, to fight, to conquer, to thrive. I came to win, to survive, to prosper, to rise, to FLY!” My theme song is “Beautiful Flower” by Indie Arie, because she sings about beauty, value, and resilience.

  12. I started the reset yesterday, and I can’t wait for today’s assignment!

Notebook: A green small spiral hard cover notebook with flowers and butterflies and a quote that says “cheerfulness is the atmosphere in which all things thrive.” I chose this notebook because I love that quote and the notebook is girly like me! :)

Mantra: “Doing the best at this moment puts you on the best place for the next moment.”~Oprah Winfrey

Theme Song: A Beautiful Day by India Arie. You need only listen to it once to understand why!

My mantra for the Reset (and thereafter): Be Confident in who God Made You To Be.
