I love Sundays because they are typically my self-care days.
No matter where I am, I usually slow down, reflect and enjoy some relaxing “me time” before I enter the coming week full-speed ahead.
This past Sunday in Playa del Carmen, I enjoyed a leisurely breakfast of huevos rancheros, fruit and fresh-squeezed orange juice.
I did a couple hours of work on my laptop outside by the pool – mostly wrapping up my strategic business plan and marketing calendar for 2015, which was really exciting!
Then I spent the rest of the afternoon reading, drinking margaritas and getting blacker on the beach.
It was the perfect rhythm of work and play.
As I’ve been going through my year-end reflection and planning process, one of my big goals is to block out the time for many more perfect days in 2015.
I want to give myself permission to do more of the things I love to do, when I want to do them.
You see, the road to get to this point in my life and business was NOT easy.
And as a result, I often feel a sense of internal pressure – guilt, really – that I “should” be working even when I don’t have to.
But in 2015, I’m committed to not just creating the lifestyle I really want, but actually living it full out.
Including more self-care, more travel to amazing cities and more time with my favorite people!
This is why I’ve focused so much on reflecting and planning this month.
Because if you don’t have a plan…
If you just sit back and wait for things to happen TO you or FOR you….
Nothing actually happens.
It’s like waiting to win the lottery or holding out hope to marry a wealthy man so you won’t ever have to work again.
On the flip side, when you’re totally committed to creating the life you really want, you are in a position to receive and be in the flow of abundance.
Nothing worth having is going to just show up on your doorstep.
You have to be willing to do the work.
The bad news: It might take YEARS for that hard work to finally pay off.
The good news: When it does, you realize that it was all worth it to be able to live life on your own terms.
So, please…don’t give up!
Trust the process.
Celebrate your wins, no matter how small you think they are.
And allow yourself to enjoy the journey!
By the way, if you haven’t completed your annual review/preview yet, I encourage you to take some “me time” for yourself and do it before the end of the year.
You deserve it.
