Jamaica Makes Me Happy

I can’t believe I’m really back home from Jamaica. Sad face. My sister and I were there for vacay last week and we had a BLAST. It was my second time visiting the island; my sister’s first. We stayed at the Sunset Beach Resort & Spa in Montego Bay, which was a great all-inclusive deal and well worth the money we paid. I think every young black woman should visit Jamaica at least once in her life. Why, you ask? Not only is it a beautiful island, but it’s also full of beautiful MEN. Chocolatey, muscular men. Like this one.

Yeah, mon. Me and my sister met a couple of cuties to hang with while we were there, which made it even harder to leave. But besides the male persuasion, we saw the sights, ate some delicious jerk chicken, and drank more rum than I ever thought possible.

If you get a chance to come here for vacay, there are definitely some places you should check out. We enjoyed all of our tours we took around the island:

This stuff was fun, too…

Dancing our asses off at Margaritaville. And Pier One. Which is literally a nightclub on a pier. On the ocean. Which was, of course, a total and complete win.

Eating the best jerk chicken EVER at The Pork Pit on the hip strip in Montego Bay. The jerk pork is TO DIE FOR. Like, you don’t even need no sauce. Just hook it up with some rice and peas and festival (fried Jamaican bread) and you”re GOOD, son.

Getting freaked out by people driving on the wrong side of the road and all the crazy Jamaican drivers that think 100 miles an hour is a normal speed.

Palm tree everything.

And sunsets. I need more of these in my life. Me tink me gwan come back real soon, mon.

  4. I love the post! Jamaica is my second home now ;-) and I couldn't agree with you more on everything you wrote. I'm going to check out Pier One next week with my girlfriends. Thanks for suggesting the new hot spot. A week vacation there is never long enough!
