Join the 31 Days to Reset Your Life Challenge: All-New, Updated LIVE August 2011 Edition

This is the announcement post for the all-new, updated August 2011 edition of the 31 Days to Reset Your Life Challenge. I will be posting all of the new and improved exercises live on a daily basis here on the blog starting on August 1. To make sure you don’t miss any of the assignments, subscribe to the blog here.

Note: Please read everything on this page if you want to join us in August. If you signed up for the 31 Day Reset in July, this will not stop the emails you’re getting from there unless you manually unsubscribe.

For August 2011, I am putting out the invitation here on the blog for those who want to benefit from my UPDATED virtual life coaching program, 31 Days to Reset Your Life. Each day of the program requires you to complete an exercise that will help you get back on track in ways that will allow you to become a better, happier, healthier and more successful person in the future.

This month is going to be VERY exciting because it’s the first time I’ve updated the 31 Day Reset Challenge since I started the program back in December 2010! If you’ve signed up for a previous month’s challenge, you may still find value in the updated one as I will be adding new exercises that I’ve been using with my clients as well as in my own personal development over the past eight months. Many of the exercises will be the same or similar to the original challenge, but many of them will be totally different or simply improvements to the previous version. New additions will include a focus on strengthening relationships, cultivating mindfulness and strategies for living a healthier, more balanced life.

You’ll get exercises to help you:

  • Get out of an unsatisfying rut
  • Rediscover who you truly are
  • Develop a personal mission statement
  • Create a map for your ideal life
  • Envision and pursue your passion and purpose
  • Get clear about your goals for the future
  • Eliminate limiting beliefs that are holding you back from being happy
  • Experiment with new strategies for living a healthy life
  • Strengthen important relationships
  • Cultivate the entrepreneurial spirit within
  • …and much more!

Who is this program for?

Anyone who wants to manifest a change in their life, design a more fulfilling existence, make room for new possibilities or simply gain more clarity about their path to happiness and success. This challenge will especially be of benefit to you if you’ve felt stuck or in a rut during the last year.

How to sign up

Each participant who signs up for the all-new 31 Days to Reset Your Life Challenge will commit to doing each of the daily exercises. Here are the steps to sign up!

Step 1:

Add your name, blog link, and Twitter handle if you have one in the comments of this post by Monday, August 1 and you will be added to the official list of participants. I will publish a list of participating bloggers and tweeters so that we can keep tabs on each other’s progress throughout the month. On August 1, I will also post our first “assignment” and we’ll get started!

Step 2:

You will need to subscribe to the blog if you haven’t already so you will get my daily blog posts beginning August 1. This is the MOST IMPORTANT STEP, otherwise you will NOT receive any of my challenge blog posts in your inbox; you will have to come over to the blog on your own. Once you enter and confirm your email address, you will automatically receive the daily emails containing an exercise or assignment designed to provoke reflection, planning and action.

How to participate

  • As you complete each of the daily exercise, blog about the results (if some of the exercises don’t really apply to you or are too personal to share, no worries). Note: If you decide to blog along, tag your posts with the tag “31dayreset” to make them easier to share with us online.

If you don’t want to write about the challenge on your blog, you can still participate in a few other ways:

  • Follow along with the daily exercises and let us know how you apply them in the comments of each of the posts here on Happy Black Woman
  • Comment on the blog posts written by the other challenge participants – be sure to leave your own insights, suggestions and tips on the topics covered and share with us what you’re learning
  • Post your updates and learnings on Twitter using the hashtag #31dayreset (and follow me @happyblackwoman)
  • Join the Happy Black Woman Facebook community where you can post your insights and comment within the Facebook platform

P.S. Don’t forget to subscribe to the blog so you can be notified of each of the daily assignments. Again, this is the most important step, otherwise you will NOT receive any of my challenge blog posts in your inbox and you will have to remember to come over to the blog every day on your own. You may also wish to join my newsletter so you can get even more encouragement throughout the month! If you’re on Twitter, follow me @happyblackwoman to get updates there, too.

  2. I am back on track for September so I want to post my Day 1-6:
Day 1–Personal Mantra: Live and Let Live — when you live your life to the fullest, loving yourself, forgiving your mistakes, motivating and encouraging you; it allows you to love, forgive, motivate and encourage others! So live and let others live is what I do everyday!

My Theme Song is “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield
This song describes how I feel about my life and life period. I am living life with arms wide open and each day I rise out of my bed I can write or rewrite my chapter. I can love more, smile more and live more. It represents hope and freedom. I can play it all day.

Day 2: There are a lot of things I don’t like in my life at this time. Most importantly my neighborhood does not reflect who I am. That is important to me. My flat is nice but I like the hustle and bustle of a prosperous urban environment. I live in a city that offers that and I have let my financial situation enslave me ovethe t 3 years. Location may really be everything for me. I am inspired by what I see and I can create more when I am in a creative environment around creative and intelligent people.
Day 3: I can’t wait to read my love letter to myself a year from now! This excercise gives me focus and vision. I plan to do it more.
Day 4: My top 10 values were Family, Friends Love, Wisdom, Confidence, Helpfulness, Achievement, Economic Security, Vision, Balance…and I have my work cut out for me.
Day 5: I have been dealing with sustainability issues for a while but I have made good attempts to act out on most of my values, I need it to be second nature. I have been taking baby steps toward these actions however I need to sustain these values.
Day 6: My personal mission is to achieve goals without hurting others. To value family and true friends and respect everyone. To be a help and not a hindrance and to love and smile more. These things confuses adversity. To enjoy my life.

  3. Good morning everyone, I am very excited to start this journey. I am starting Day 2. This will be a very eye-opening experience.

  53. Personal Mantra: When I forgive, I am free
When I don’t forgive, I am allowing the other person to control me and my life. It is time for me to take control.

Song: I Look To You by Whitney Houston. I chose this song because I have had to rely heavily on my faith in the last 3+ years

    • Love your mantra, Mary. I am beginning to experience the power of forgiving others in my life as well, realizing that it’s really the power of love. Thanks for joining us!
