This is the announcement post for the February 2012 edition of the 31 Days to Reset Your Life Challenge. Learn more and sign up for the program here.
Note: Please read everything on this page if you want to join us for February. If you already completed last month’s challenge, no need to do this one (unless you want to repeat it) as the exercises are identical month by month.
For February 2012, I am putting out the invitation here on the blog for those who want to benefit from my virtual life coaching program, 31 Days to Reset Your Life. Each day of the program requires you to complete an exercise that will help you get back on track in ways that will allow you to become a better, happier, healthier and more successful person in the future.
You’ll get exercises to help you:
- Get out of an unsatisfying rut
- Rediscover who you truly are
- Develop a personal mission statement
- Create a map for your ideal life
- Envision and pursue your passion and purpose
- Get clear about your goals for the future
- Eliminate behaviors that are holding you back from being happy
- Experiment with new strategies for living a healthy life
- Build new relationships
- Cultivate the entrepreneurial spirit within
- …and much more!
Who is this challenge for?
Anyone who wants to manifest a change in their life, design a more fulfilling existence, make room for new possibilities or simply gain more clarity about their path to happiness and success. This challenge will especially be of benefit to you if you’ve felt stuck or in a rut during the last year.
How to sign up:
Each participant who signs up for 31 Days to Reset Your Life will commit to doing each of the daily exercises.
Step 1:
You will need to SIGN UP HERE so you can be notified of each of the daily assignments. This is the MOST IMPORTANT STEP, otherwise you will NOT receive any of my challenge blog posts in your inbox. Once you enter and confirm your email address, you will automatically receive a daily email. The emails will be sent to you every day for 31 days, starting immediately. Each email will contain an exercise or assignment designed to provoke reflection and planning. Each email will also contain a link back to my blog where you can comment and connect with other 31 Day Reset participants. This way, you get a daily reminder to complete the exercise and share your learnings with the group!
Step 2:
One of the best things about participating in a challenge is the accountability and support, so in addition to signing up, please add your name, blog link, and Twitter handle (if you have one) in the comments below so that we can keep tabs on your progress throughout the month. As soon as you sign up, you will receive your first assignment and you can get started on right away, whenever you choose to begin!
How to participate:
As you complete each of the daily exercise, blog about the results (if some of the exercises don’t really apply to you, no worries). Note: If you decide to blog along, tag your posts with the tag “31dayreset” to make them easier to share with us.
If you don’t want to write about the challenge on your blog, you can still participate in a few other ways:
- Follow along with the daily exercises and let us know how you apply them in the comments of each of the posts here on Happy Black Woman
- Comment on the blog posts written by the other challenge participants – be sure to leave your own insights, suggestions and tips on the topics covered and share with us what you’re learning
- Post your updates and learnings on Twitter using the hashtag #31dayreset (and follow me @happyblackwoman)
- Join the Happy Black Woman Facebook community where you can post your insights and comment within the Facebook platform
P.S. Don’t forget to SIGN UP HERE so you can be notified of each of the daily assignments. Again, this is the most important step, otherwise you will NOT receive any of my challenge blog posts in your inbox and you will have to manage this process on your own.
P.P.S. Don’t forget to come over and join The Happy Black Woman Facebook Community if you haven’t already so you can get even more encouragement throughout the month! If you’re on Twitter, follow me @happyblackwoman to get updates there, too.

Hi Everyone
Looking forward to the amazing changes coming this year!!!
Follow me @Cherland72
-Describe my reset notebook
My reset notebook is multicolored pooka dots. I bought it because it was different and fun. At the time, I was looking for different, fun, and upbeat.
-My personal mantra
My personal mantra was actually hard to decide upon as there were 4 quotes I found that really spoke to me. Since the assignment was to pick one with the focus of it being how you want your life and the 31 day reset to go, I settled on this:
I am STRONG.
I’ve gone through hell and kept walking. I know my weaknesses.
I am WORTHY.
It took me a long time to believe that. I’ve worked through my “unworthiness”.
I am BEAUTIFUL.
And no one needs to convince me of that anymore. I’ve dropped the illusion of not enough.
I am IMPERFECT.
I have imperfections but that doesn’t make me IMperfect. I am PERFECT as I am.
I am ME.
I thought I was lost & alone, but now I realise that I was always with me. -yourlifeyourway.net
-Choose a theme song
I thought that this one would be the hardest for me, but as soon as I started, one song immediately came to mind: Ledisi “Pieces of Me”. I picked the song because to some it all up, there are lots of pieces and layers to me as there is to everyone.

I am so excited about this journey! I have had this blog for over a year and I have yet to post 1 thing! I am a huge procrastinator. I chose a black notebook with inspirational words written on the cover for my notebook. I bought it a couple of months ago and didn’t have a purpose for it when it was purchased. My theme song is Janelle Monae’s “Tightrope.” I love this song! It is upbeat and insirational, not to mention somewhat reflective of what I am going through in my life right now. You can follow me on twitter @Style_Chaser.
My mantra….I stole from Oprah. ”Living in the moment means letting go of the past and not waiting for the future. It means living your life consciously, aware that each moment you breathe is a gift.” – Oprah Winfrey
I’ll be back with my theme song, but my personal mantra is Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” My dedicated notebook is one I bought a couple of weeks ago from a college bookstore. I journal regularly and thought it was cute, so I picked it up, not knowing when or how I’d be using it. It is brightly colored orange and pink, with a couple of inside pockets, and small enough to fit in my purse. I don’t have a blog or use twitter, but I’ll be here and on FB on a regular basis – count on it!
Quick question: have each of you been getting the daily emails? I haven’t and just wondered if there was an issue with my email or something.

Yup ive been getting them daily
Make sure that you confirmed your email address when you signed up. Otherwise, the emails will not be sent to you. Feel free to sign up again or simply follow along with the archive of assignments here:

Rosetta – Thanks for this tip! I went ahead and signed up. I probably posted here and thought that was all I needed to do. Anyway, my brain tends to focus more with email than the web so I am happy to welcome you back to my inbox!
Aahh man…..I started off the new year hyped to get with the program! I got through two days and my work/home life totally overwhelmed me. I continued to read the majority of the posts and printed some pages for my binder, but I simply could not keep up. Fortunately, one thing I’ve learned is that life does give us “do-overs”, and so I’m looking forward to joining all of you successful ladies in February! Thank you so much for this opportunity, as it is exactly what I need! God bless you all!
Ah Denise, I feel you on the great start last month followed by a not so good finish! We will have to look out for one another to make sure February is different

Thanks Precious! It was a very dear mentor of mine who simply said to me, after I continued to beat myself up about not being able to keep up: “What would be wrong with putting the program aside for a minute until you are truly ready?” How simple is that! The pressure we put on ourselves sometimes…amazing, isn’t it? I’ll be looking out for you too!
oops typo. Reevent2012@blogspot.com
After reading some of the post, I’m excited for this RESET. My life gets so busy, like all sistah right?1*, but I fall off, so the support would really help, as I definitely need this RESET. My name is Terri, blog is Reevnt2012@blogspot.com (blog is Lotus Ankh), Twitter handl is @LotusankhTerri. Looking forward to sharing, changes and growth in 2012.
Hi Terri! I just posted something similar….so glad to know I’m not alone in needing a reset for my reset! Best of luck to you in your journey!
I saw some of the activities last month and thought they were fabulous, so I decided to try all 31 days of the challenge.
My personal mantra: Be better than you were yesterday! Pretty understandable meaning behind the quote.
My themes song: Love on Top – Beyonce. This song resonates with me about how I am focusing on putting myself as well as my relationship on top instead of other things/people in my life.

I found out about 31 day reset a couple of weeks ago, so I’m glad that it started over for February. My mantra is I deserve peace and balance; no one will take it from me and I won’t deprive myself of it. My theme song is “My Life” by Mary J. Blige. Things that I want to change can, and will, one day at a time. Continue to believe in God and myself. Think positive. Make an effort!
I decided to keep a personal journal, but my twitter handle is @Kit_Kat_PR. I look forward to connecting with y’all
I started the January reset and didn’t follow through, so I’m giving it another try. Posting on my blog at http://www.innerdiva.wordpress.com will keep me accountable.
Read my latest blog post…Words.
So did I, InnerDiva! Let’s do this!
I left a post last night about my twitter name and website, but both were actually under revision. Follow me @MsSylvabelle. Blog is still under construction, but will be up shortly. Just sending a correction.
I attempted the 31 day reset months ago with my bf, I thought it would help grow together which wasnt a bad idea but as he fell behind so did I. Long story short Im back to try again and I think my spirit will thank me. My bf and I are still happily together but I decided to focus on me so im here alone this time. With that being said my mantra is I deserve to be happy and my theme song is Give It To Me Right by Melanie Fiona. Its time to really start putting me and my happiness first. Im using the same book but im starting from the back. I want both journeys in there. One more thing, because im raming lol, it is a Marilyn Monroe journal(enough said). Im looking forward to this month.

I discovered this site halfway into January so I’m glad there is a February version of the reset! I’m trying to decide on a theme song now… suggestions are welcome
(I love Rosetta’s pick for this too)
Hi I’m looking forward to the challenge!! I’ll be writing in a personal journal, but I’ll keep my twitter page updated: @dmkelz84. Looking forward to connecting with all of you!

Did this challenge in October or November. Is there any way for me to opt out of the monthly challenges so that I don’t get repeats? No offense to anyone of course; already saved each of the 31 days from the month that I participated.

I fell behind and ultimately fell off last month but as your last post said, “inhale and try again.” Let’s do this!
