This is the announcement post for the May 2011 edition of the 31 Days to Reset Your Life Challenge. Learn more and sign up for the program here.
Note: Please read everything on this page if you want to join us in May.
If you already completed last month’s challenge, no need to do this one, as the exercises are identical month by month.
For May 2011, I am putting out the invitation here on the blog for those who want to benefit from my virtual life coaching program, 31 Days to Reset Your Life. By taking proven strategies and exercises I use in my own personal growth journey as well as with my coaching clients, I have created a month-long challenge designed to equip you with all the tools you need to reset your life. Each day of the program requires you to complete an exercise that will help you get back on track in ways that will allow you to become a better, happier, more successful person in the future.
You’ll get exercises to help you:
- Rediscover who you truly are
- Develop a personal mission statement
- Create a map for your ideal life
- Get clear about your goals for the future
- Envision and pursue your passion and purpose in life
- Try new things and live outside of your comfort zone
- …and much more!
Who is this program for?
Anyone who wants to manifest a change in their life or simply gain more clarity about their path to happiness and success. This challenge will especially be of benefit to you if you’ve felt stuck or in a rut during the last year.
How to sign up
Each participant who signs up for 31 Days to Reset Your Life will commit to doing each of the daily exercises.
Step 1:
You will need to SIGN UP HERE so you can be notified of each of the daily assignments. This is the MOST IMPORTANT STEP, otherwise you will NOT receive any of my challenge blog posts in your inbox. Once you enter and confirm your email address, you will automatically receive a daily email (every day for 31 days, starting now!) containing an exercise or assignment designed to provoke reflection and planning. Each email will also contain a link back to my blog where you can comment and connect with other 31 Day Reset participants. This way, you get a daily reminder to complete the exercise and share your learnings with the group!
Step 2:
One of the best things about participating in a challenge is the accountability and support, so in addition to signing up, please add your name, blog link, and Twitter handle (if you have one) in the comments below so that we can keep tabs on your progress throughout the month. As soon as you sign up, you will receive your first assignment and you can get started on right away, whenever you choose to begin!
Get the 31 Day Reset Workbook, an interactive resource with all 31 assignments as well as worksheets to help you complete the daily exercises. The workbook is 45 pages and comes in an electronic, ebook format. This allows you to not only have all the assignments at your fingertips, but also contains LIVE LINKS for you to click on so you can share your results with the 31 Day Reset community here on the blog!
Click here to order the workbook.
How to participate
- As you complete each of the daily exercise, blog about the results (if some of the exercises don’t really apply to you, no worries). Note: If you decide to blog along, tag your posts with the tag “31dayreset” to make them easier to share with us.
If you don’t want to write about the challenge on your blog, you can still participate in a few other ways:
- Follow along with the daily exercises and let us know how you apply them in the comments of each of the posts here on Happy Black Woman
- Comment on the blog posts written by the other challenge participants – be sure to leave your own insights, suggestions and tips on the topics covered and share with us what you’re learning
- Post your updates and learnings on Twitter using the hashtag #31dayreset (and follow me @happyblackwoman)
- Join the Happy Black Woman Facebook community where you can post your insights and comment within the Facebook platform
P.S. Don’t forget to SIGN UP HERE so you can be notified of each of the daily assignments. Again, this is the most important step, otherwise you will NOT receive any of my challenge blog posts in your inbox and you will have to manage this process on your own.

Hey Rosetta, this is an excellent idea. I should have read about this earlier. Being able to “RESET” your life and wake up with a fresh new attitude and outlook is an opportunity not to be missed. Most of us are underachieving and we know it. I have high hopes for this challenge and readers must know that this should be treated as a personal mission for it to succeed. Thank you for providing the tools to making this positive change in us possible.

I know the month is 2/3 done, but I’m starting today.
My mantra is actually something I made up for myself at the beginning of 2011. On post-it notes on my home and work computers, as well as the mirror in the bedroom, I have written: ‘This is not the time for half-assedness.’ Excuse my language here, but I have spent much of my life ‘half-assing’ things – starting but not finishing projects, dreaming about doing one thing, but doing completely the opposite. I thought that posting that phrases in places I was likely to see it would be enough to set a fire under my butt, and it did initially, but now, again I find myself doing just good enough to get what I need at the moment. So, once again, I proclaim that ‘This is not the time for half-assedness!’ I have things I want to accomplish in my life, but I’ve been letting this thing or that thing (namely finances) be handy excuses for not doing so. But enough with excuses, this is not the time for half-assedness! My life is too short, and going by too fast, to let excuses, and inertia, delay me any more.
I have a beautiful journal with a peacock and gold-patterning on front that I bought last year, but have written very little in. I have removed those pages and am starting anew. I’m ready for day #2 and beyond.

I just joined and I am eager. I have a notebook but am struggling with my mantra. This is going to take some thought…
“I wanted a perfect ending. Now I’ve learned, the hard way, that some poems don’t rhyme, and some stories don’t have a clear beginning, middle and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what’s going to happen next.”
Learn from yesterday
Live for today
Hope for tomorrow
“Life is a daring adventure, or nothing at all.”
I just stumbled upon this site and I am so excited to start this program. I am going to buy my little notebook tomorrow. Thank you for presenting this opportunity!
“Every Human Being’s essential nature is perfect and faultless, but after years of immersion in the world we easily forget our roots and take on a counterfeit nature.” Lao-tzu
and
“Don’t believe everything you think!”
“This is not the time to be afraid or timid because the challenges are formidable. Now is the time to take both personal and institutional risks.”
Favorite quote: I have failed as much as I have succeed. I look forward to completing the challenge.
