If you’ve seen the movie The Bucket List starring Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson, then you already know what this post is all about. If not, here’s a synopsis:
“Corporate billionaire Edward Cole and working class mechanic Carter Chambers have nothing in common except for their terminal illnesses. While sharing a hospital room together, they decide to leave it and do all the things they have ever wanted to do before they die according to their bucket list.”
Today, you’re going to make your own bucket list.
Estimated Time to Complete: 30-60 minutes
Imagine you’ve just been told you’re about to die in six months. Make a list of all the things you want to do, see or accomplish before you die. That’s it. Go.
Take Action and Reflect: When you’re done, please share your “bucket list” with us in the comments! If you blogged about today’s assignment, please post the link in the comments so we can read it!

In six months I would forget all rules and just live! I would stay in a beach house and wake up every morning to that beautiful view, just soaking it all in. I would be happy with just that but I also wouldn’t mind traveling to other places as well. I love beautiful scenery so I would travel to all the most beautiful cities in America and for once travel outside of this country! The destination would have to be Jamaica. I would love to dive into the ocean and view the world underwater- I have always loved acquariums but I want to see the real thing! My last six months would be pure excitement and adventure because it is nothing like feeling that freedom to go wherever and do whatever without thinking about the cost or whatever. All of that would go out the window.
Here’s my blog post: http://wp.me/p1rrQZ-3s

Initially when I thought about this, I thought it will be easy because there is so much I want to do…but then again 1. I realized it was such a short period (6 months) and 2. Most of my desires right now are more focused towards career advancement and personal development…
And so there goes THE list:
- Get closer to God ( It will be now or never at this point)
- Give a TED talk
- Spread the most LOVE I can to family members, friends and even strangers
- Let go of all the burden and baggage I have carried from my past, in others words: FORGIVE
- In return, Ask for forgiveness from all the people I have/or may have hurt in the past
- Get in touch with all the people I have talked to in a while
- Go back to my passion and start taking dancing classes again
- Finally visit Trinidad during Carnival Season and “Fête” with my dancing buddy
My Bucket List:
Go to Pamplona Spain for the running of the bulls
Attend a Laker Game, All Star Game, or NBA playoff game.
Visit: Iceland’s Blue Lagoon, Aspen Co, Sub-Saharan Africa, Costa Rica, Hawaii, and Brazil.
Cut ALL ties with toxic people.
Make a will.
Spend time with the people most important to me and let them know how much they mean to me.
The list:
” Looking back – I am glad that ”
So the bucket list is (my interpretation) and if I am thinking of the movie – what to do before I die. Therefore, I am going to look back and say in this life/this is what I wish to accomplish.

I was surprised to find that there really isn’t alot that I want to do (probably ’cause what I want to do is alot). But my bucket list mainly entails: Making peace with my family, developing relationships with some of the really cool people in my life, see the world, and learning stuff. Oh yeah, and I wanna go to a few concerts (India Arie, John Legend, Yo Yo Ma), learn an instrument and celebrate New Year’s Eve in all of the major places listed on TV.

This was a little hard for me to write. I’m pretty young and I realized that most of the things I really want to do / accomplish will take a lot longer than 6 months. Things like going to professional school in the medical field, being able to pass on a successful business to my future children (I wouldn’t even have time to conceive and birth the children or the business within 6 months, lol)
Anyway,
here’s what I was able to come up with:
*visit family in Nigeria, Italy, UK, etc.
*month-long trip to Latin American country
*spend lots of quality time with immediate family
I don’t think [and someone please correct me if I'm wrong] it was intended to mean, only what you could fit in 6 mos, but more to say now that you know you only have 6mos what are the type of things that you’d look back and say “man, I really wish I would’ve gotten the chance to do this” So go ahead and pass that business down to your future babies!
Thanks for pointing that out, Channing. You’re right about the timeline. I’ll make that clearer for future Resets!
so my bucket list has been completed..most of the things i want to achieve aren’t material…

What an honest list. Isn’t that funny how the things we want don’t require us to “win the lottery” or be millionaires?
thanks so much for reading.. yeah, i don’t need to be rich, i just want to be comfortable so i can enjoy the things i do have without feeling so stressed out.
