I know, I know, this is like the third video I’ve made in 2012. I may just be on a roll here, LOL! I took my iPhone to the woods to record this 8-minute video with some reflections about my recent month-long trip to Europe.
In the video, I share three life lessons (among many!) that I learned as a result of my trip:
- Travel doesn’t have to be expensive (plus, a few of the specific ways I saved money during my trip)
- I love being alone (and reading books…by myself LOL)
- It’s not the best idea to start a new romantic relationship right before you take a month-long trip out of the country (and what happened between me and the Pianist)

Loved this video and your hair is super cute. You shared some really valuable insight about your travel experience, I hope more women will follow your example.
Thanks Miss Trenia
I’ve heard from at least one sister who is taking off to travel solo as a result of reading about my experience, so I feel like my work here is done LOL. Sorry we missed you at the NYC happy hour!
First, your blog is so inspiring to me! So glad you enjoyed your European vacation. Your experiences really resonated with me because, I too, consider myself an introvert and actually like traveling alone (although I haven’t done much of it – YET!).
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and wisdom with the world. Your blog is helping me stay motivated to never give up on my dreams.
All the best!
Thanks for reading and watching Terez! It’s always great to connect with another introvert
Looks like you have a great little product with your Pinterest book – seems like a really popular social network that a lot of people still don’t understand. Good luck with it!
P.S. I really appreciate you sharing my video on Twitter.
You should definitely do more videos. Your energy is perfect for that medium.
I am super-excited you took this adventure for several reasons. Aside from the general fabulousness of exploring these countries and checking things off your bucket list—that you were able to just relax and BE. To sit and be able to read a piece of good fiction and remember how much you love it. You work HARD. I hope that you don’t wait until you go out of the country again and continue to regularly schedule time for that. It’s important.
Also I hope just one woman saw this or read your series and decides to stop waiting on folk and just GO. It will be okay.
If you want to eke another video or post out of this….Although you took the wrong clothes, I still would love to see how you packed for a month in a backpack! Perhaps you can talk about the bag you used and how you stored the clothes and other items. Just an idea
Now I’m having deja vu because you’ve given me this good advice before LOL. I think I feel more comfortable taking more time completely OFF now that my business is at the point where I know it’s going to bring in money every single month. Without that worry, I’m starting to be able to settle into a routine of shutting down the computer at night and grabbing a book to fall asleep with instead. Something I’ve been trying to do for a loooong time.
And thanks for the video post suggestion – I’ve definitely got a few more posts to write about the trip!
Glad you had such a great time…. that’s such an awesome adventure. That’s one of the things I wish I did more of. You’ve definitely inspired me to look into something like this in the very near future
Thanks for watching, Mallory!
Thank you so much for taking us along with you on your month long tour. I’ll tell you it was a joy to check in daily just to see what was next. Happy to have you back in the states for a while.
We learn as we go if we pay attention to life.
Thanks for watching Grams
