I’m in San Diego right now for another few days of learning, networking and FUN with my business mentor and my fellow mastermind members.
I’m enjoying my last week in California before I head back to Hawaii to soak up the sunshine and not have to wear a jacket anymore.
Last night, me and my girl Kristen had a wonderful dinner at Fleming’s Steakhouse in La Jolla and let me tell you…their lobster bisque is off the chain!
Anyway, today I wanted to share a part of my personal development journey for this year.
I’ve been stretching myself in line with my 2015 theme of “fun, love and adventure.”
I’ve been asking myself how I can show up more fully in my life and in my work – for myself and for my tribe of amazing women?
One of my big investments I wanted to make in myself this year was in the area of self-love – to give myself the gift of looking better and feeling better in my body.
Now that I’m in my 30s, my body is beginning to change and I know my personal style is overdue for a change as well.
Not to mention all the events and travel I have to do for my business, which is requiring me to step it up a bit in the clothing department!
So last month, I hired an image consultant.
And on Tuesday, Liana Chaouli and I spent the day at her studio in Beverly Hills!
We’ve been working together to upgrade my wardrobe so that my outer appearance aligns with my inner transformation.
The process has involved questionnaires, journaling, coaching, Skype sessions and yes, several pictures of me in my underwear.
Here’s 3 lessons I’ve learned so far:
- I look best in “warm” colors – chocolate browns, cream instead of white, deep greens instead of bright neon ones, burgundy instead of bright red, etc. I never thought I would love wearing brown!
- When you dress up, it affects how you approach your day. You wake up and want to give 100% to your day in support of your goals. When you look your best, you send a message to the universe that you are ready to receive a higher level of abundance!
- By changing the way you dress, you automatically begin to think about yourself differently, including the places you go and the people you go with. Also, when you upgrade your appearance, you automatically attract different people into your world.
Like I always say…coaches need coaches.
And working with Liana has helped me to learn even more about myself, which has prompted quite a few “aha” moments over the past few weeks!
What’s in the suitcase?
It’s my new and improved minimalist closet: 40 items of clothing, plus underwear and 3 pair of shoes.
Here’s a quick photo to show off some of my new clothes!
Now, I have a few powerful coaching questions for you…
What are YOU doing to stretch yourself this year?
What chances are you taking?
What investments are you making?
What are you doing to show up more fully for yourself and for your purpose?
What are you doing to make sure that 2015 isn’t a repeat of 2014?
