Since 2014, I’ve had the honor of running Happy Black Woman® full-time as a personal development company that empowers Black women to create the lives and businesses of their dreams.

The Happy Black Woman Coaching Certification is a 6-month cohort-based experience, designed to give you everything you need to become a confident life coach using our proprietary framework, The Happy Black Woman® Method.
Inside The Happy Black Woman® Coaching Certification, you don’t just learn how to coach…you learn how to embody the transformation for yourself first.
Over the course of 6 months, you will:
- Do your own personal development work first so you’re walking in integrity as a coach
- Get live practice and feedback in a safe, supportive space
- Learn a proven system that guides your clients from where they are to where they want to be
- Gain coaching business skills to start getting paid doing work you love
Now, let’s be clear – this is not a cookie-cutter program where you watch a few videos and get a certificate at the end.
This is a live, interactive, high-touch certification experience taught by Rosetta Thurman, Founder of the Happy Black Woman® movement and your master coach for the journey!
Program Curriculum
As a coach-in-training, you won’t just study The Happy Black Woman® Method, you’ll experience it for yourself. First, you’ll do it for you. Then, you’ll learn to lead others through it.
You’ll walk through each module as a participant in your own personal transformation journey, and at the same time, you’ll be trained to guide your future clients through the exact same process.
This dual approach ensures you show up as a confident, compassionate, and qualified coach – because you’ve done the work yourself.
MODULE 1
Evaluate Your Life
Your journey begins with radical honesty. In this module, you’ll conduct a comprehensive life assessment to evaluate the 8 key areas of your life – from career and finances to health and relationships. Through powerful reflection exercises, you’ll get crystal clear on where you are now versus where you want to be.
As a coach, you’ll learn how to walk your clients through this same process to help them gain clarity, identify blind spots, and uncover the gaps that have been keeping them stuck. This is the essential first step to building trust and momentum in any coaching relationship.
MODULE 2
Ignite Your Purpose
Purpose isn’t something you have to find—it’s a fire you have to ignite. In this module, you’ll reconnect with your deeper “why” and craft your personal mission statement, a declaration of who you are and what you’re here on earth to do.
Then, you’ll learn how to coach your clients through this empowering process, helping them step into their calling with clarity and confidence. You’ll leave this module with a framework for guiding women to rediscover their purpose, claim their voice, and take ownership of their unique path.
MODULE 3
Create Your Vision
In this module, you’ll begin to visualize your next level, mapping out a clear, compelling vision for the life you truly desire. You’ll learn how to break free from living on autopilot and create a future that excites and inspires you.
As a coach, you’ll master the art of helping clients dream bigger, think beyond limitations, and align their goals with their values. This module gives you the tools to help others create their personal roadmap for happiness, success and freedom.
MODULE 4
Transform Your Mindset
No matter how great your goals are, without the right mindset, you’ll stay stuck. In this powerful module, you’ll identify and replace limiting beliefs with empowering thoughts that support your growth. You’ll learn how to create a daily mindset practice that keeps you positive, productive, focused, and resilient.
Then, you’ll learn how to support your clients in doing the same. You’ll gain techniques for helping them challenge negative self-talk, release internal blocks, and reprogram their thoughts to support their success.
MODULE 5
Take Inspired Action
Transformation doesn’t happen without action. In this final module, you’ll create a powerful 90-day action plan that aligns with your new vision. You’ll revamp your schedule, build your support system, and map out the next steps in your personal and professional life.
You’ll also learn how to guide your clients through action planning—helping them move from dreaming to doing. You’ll be equipped with coaching tools to keep clients focused, motivated, and committed to taking bold, consistent action toward their goals.
