My journey to manifesting my vision…
In 2008, I launched my first business as a “side hustle,” offering my services as a nonprofit consultant, speaker and coach. I quickly realized that I could use my skills outside of my job and get paid to do what I loved!
In 2010, I quit my 9-5 to work for myself full-time and was able to replace my income. It was then that I created a blog called “The Diary of a Happy Black Woman” to document everything I was doing to transform my life, step outside my comfort zone and become the best version of me.
In 2011, I got rid of all my stuff and began traveling the world with just a suitcase and a laptop. I became a digital nomad – living and working from my “bucket list” destinations of Hawaii, Greece, France, Italy, Spain, Mexico, Bali and more!
By 2013, what started out as “just a blog” had evolved into a popular women’s empowerment brand and supportive community of hundreds of like-minded Black women with big visions for our lives.
This was the year I made the decision to shut down my nonprofit consulting business and focus on Happy Black Woman full-time.
Despite many naysayers telling me it was a bad idea to target my business specifically to Black women…
Fast forward to today and the Happy Black Woman brand has generated over $5 million in revenue.
More importantly, my work has inspired, educated and empowered Black women all over the world!
Through the power of manifestation, I’ve transformed my own life and built a multi-million dollar business teaching others how to transform theirs.
But what I’m most grateful for is that I’ve been able to create something that’s so much bigger than me…a life of purpose.
And now? I’m here to help you do the same.

Rosetta Thurman is the Founder of Happy Black Woman®, a personal development company that empowers Black women entrepreneurs to create the lives and businesses of their dreams.
