Rosetta Thurman is the Founder of Happy Black Woman®, a personal development company that empowers ambitious Black women to create the lives and businesses of their dreams.
In 2008, she launched her first business as a nonprofit consultant, speaker and coach.
It started out as a “side hustle,” but less than 2 years later, she was able to replace her income and quit her nonprofit job to work for herself full-time.
The following year, she got rid of all her stuff, ended her apartment lease and became a “digital nomad,” traveling the world with just a suitcase and a laptop, living and working from her dream destinations of Hawaii, Greece, France, Italy, Spain, Mexico, Bali, Argentina and more!
Along the way, she created a blog called, “The Diary of a Happy Black Woman” to document everything she was doing to transform her life.
As she began to write about her journey, Rosetta discovered that there were thousands of Black women just like her who wanted MORE out of their lives and careers.
Within a few years, the blog became much more than a website. It grew into a community of like-minded Black women around the world!
Today, Happy Black Woman® is a global Black women’s empowerment brand that has been featured in Essence, Black Enterprise, SUCCESS Magazine, Entrepreneur and more.
The brand has generated over $5 million in revenue through courses, digital products, events, retreats, masterminds and coaching.
Most importantly, Rosetta’s programs have helped thousands of Black women create the happiness, success and freedom they deserve!
Rosetta is the host of The Happy Black Woman® Podcast with over 1 million downloads and the author of Launch Your Business: The 5 Step Solution to Do What You Love, Quit Your Job and Have the Freedom to Travel and Live Life on Your Own Terms.
Rosetta holds a Master’s Degree in Organizational Management and has also taught business and leadership courses at Trinity Washington University.
In her free time, you can find Rosetta traveling to the next place on her bucket list, cooking a new recipe, dancing to 80s music or watching yet another true crime show.
She lives in the Washington, DC area with her husband, Jacarl.
