Last year, I had an incredible experience on Richard Branson’s Necker Island hideaway resort in the British Virgin Islands!
Over 4 days, I connected with some amazing people – multi-millionaire entrepreneurs, investors and influencers who all came together for an invite-only conference to exchange ideas about the future of business, technology, healthcare and more. And of course, the highlight of my trip was actually getting to hang out with Sir Richard Branson himself!
Here’s a video with the story about how I got there:
I flew from San Diego to San Juan, Puerto Rico, then took a tiny 8-person plane over to Tortola, British Virgin Islands and THEN took a speedboat from the Tortola airport to Richard Branson’s amazing private paradise.
After a long day of traveling, I was greeted with a glass of champagne at the resort and then…I exhaled LOL.
I was in awe of all the natural beauty in BVI. I woke up at 6:30am every day just to watch the sunrise. I sat out on the deck with my robe and my water, just taking it all in.
SO much opened up for me in terms of my vision and mindset, partly because of the 2 “bucket list” items I crossed off while I was there.
While I was there, I got the chance to have dinner with Sir Richard Branson himself at his beautiful home including a screening of his new film, “Don’t Look Down” which was beyond inspiring.
There was a small group of us there for a charity dinner as part of the invite-only conference I was a part of. We got a tour of his home (one of his many estates around the world) and ate a family-style Indian meal at a long dining table with all the windows open to let the island breeze in.
I was seated just 1 person away from Richard, which allowed me the perfect vantage point to get a selfie during the evening! There was champagne, delicious food and lots of crazy stories from Richard about his experiences in business and life.
I learned so much in just a few hours about how he built his multi-billion dollar Virgin empire and impacted millions around the world through his philanthropy.
Here are 4 valuable life and business Iessons I learned from Richard:
- Do it YOUR way.
- Life is short; take risks.
- Create something meaningful that makes a huge difference in people’s lives.
- Have a lot of FUN in the process.
So of course the day after meeting Richard, I finally went ziplining!
I felt expanded.
And motivated beyond words.
Here is a short video clip of some of my experiences on Necker Island!
